The architects Watershoot, father and son, designed several houses in this same street.
They were also behind a very large number of Art Deco buildings in Sint-Niklaas, most of them commissioned by a wealthy bourgeoisie.
They applied a particularly elaborate architectural vocabulary, as is the case here.
They placed particular emphasis on decorative elements: brickwork, window shapes, ironwork, very elaborate stained glass in all the windows, geometric shapes in the cut stones and even under the cornices.
They would apply this architectural register until 1936, completely changing their style.
