Amazing building, built in 1930, by the shoe manufacturer Eperon d’Or.

The original Eperon d’Or factory dates from 1863.

The shoe industry was very prosperous and, in 1930, the owners decided to build a new modern factory that would represent the quality of the company. which had been supplying the Court of Belgium since 1927 and Luxembourg since 1933.

They called on architect Charles Laloo, who designed an avant-garde building in yellow brick, inspired by the Amsterdam School.

Three levels with a large square corner tower, pierced with glass openings over the entire height, ending in a crown made of four intersecting brick arches.

The ground floor contains the main entrance and three garages.

The first floor has large rounded windows with geometrically shaped panes.

A large frieze, under a ceramic cornice, bears the brand and insignia attesting to their status as suppliers to the Court. This sign was restored in 2017.

The building has been listed since 1999, and since 2017 has housed a fascinating shoe and brush museum.
