Architect Victor Bourgeois designed this house and workshop for sculptor Oscar Jespers in 1928.
The artist first thought of Le Corbusier before entrusting the construction of his house to Victor Bourgeois.
The style was inspired by the Swiss architect’s principles. Resolutely modernist, this house was somewhat disturbing in the middle of the very classic houses of the district.
Transformed into an art gallery in 2015 by Jean François Declercq and Roel Rijssenbeek, the large interior spaces have regained their usefulness.
The gallery owners have kept the original name of the house.
