A beautiful six-storey apartment building, designed in 1931 by architect Léon Stynen, in the fashionable Art Deco style.

The regular travertine façade, with identical rectangular windows, framed by sculpted stone running the entire height.

The building at the origin had two apartments per floor.

The ground floor, set back under a stone canopy, contains the entrance door and garages, the name “Residentie Van Rijswijk” is engraved in the stone above an elegant oculus.

The corner is supported by an imposing sculpted stone console.

The corner bay with its glass opening has recently been revised, therefore

the design of the volute glass is not from the period.

The building is crowned with a vast band decorated with monumental statues, seven life-size figures inspired by antiquity (artist unknown).
