  • Legein Louis

Surprising twin villas in a style very different from the other houses on the avenue, the architect Louis Legein lets his imagination run wild, the result is a mixture of styles.

First, a classic base with a garage in the basement, topped with a large terrace.

All in yellow bricks very common at the time.

Then comes the roof in unexpected green tiles, cut by two windows at the corners.

Two towers above the entrance doors, in contrast with the style of the front, whose shape and style are close to the modernist codes of the interwar period.

At the time, these villas aroused much criticism from architects and urban planners, which is understandable. The Dumont district was made up of "Anglo-Norman" villas, with homogeneous materials and colors.

They nevertheless bear witness to the boldness of the architect but also of his patrons.

They are part of the list of protected buildings in the Dumont district.

The whole is in good condition.
