Shopping house designed by Antwerp architect François Bollekens. The current store was established in 1929, replacing a very old Italian glove factory, and despite the years has lost none of its splendor.

Beautiful façade with three regular bays under a flat roof. It is made of natural stone for the upper floors and black marble for the storefront.

Framed by two pilasters that run the entire height, the façade is crowned by a pediment bearing the name of the glove factory, and ends with a typical flower basket.

Numerous decorative elements adorn this façade, such as the fluting between the windows and on the tympanums. The store's window has retained all its original features: the horizontal gold-printed glass sign, the central entrance door, and the symmetrical display windows.

Even the display presentation seems to have retained its 1930s style.

Only the neon lights above the window date from the post-war period.

The very Art Deco interior has undergone no changes; everything is refined: the furniture, the oak paneling, the tiled floor, and the marble fireplace behind the period “faux-bois” cash register. Two elegant counters face each other beneath opal glass chandeliers.

Turquoise-toned leather boxes conceal the glove collections.

A little gem to discover.
