Extensive warehouses designed in 1935 by architect Joseph Somers for his client Léon Van Parijs, a major exotic fruit importer.
The building on Zeevaertstraat, designed in the middle of the Art Deco era, is an exemplary witness to this style.
The facade, built of white Euville stone on a plinth in hard stone, extends over five bays and three levels.
Much attention has been paid to the decorative (advertising) elements, such as the LVP logo in the tower and the lettering in full and abbreviated (ELVEPE).
The imposing entrance hall in hard stone surrounds a beautiful wrought iron door.
The rooms on the first floor have retained the original stained glass windows.
The metal frames also appear to be original.
