Typically Art Deco, the Astoria hotel was designed by the municipality architect, Léon Ide, born in Blankenberge in 1901. He designed dozens of Anglo-Norman style villas in the "concession"!

The hotel was built in 1929, on the site of the old casino.

It is an imposing symmetrical building ending on the sides with two octagonal towers under domes. The central part includes the raised entrance porch, topped with a balcony.

Three-sided loggias give this facade a certain relief.

The common rooms on the ground floor have windows with cut angles, decorated with multi-colored stained glass windows with geometric and floral designs, as well as the name of the hotel above the entrance door.

Although the hotel has undergone major transformations inside, the central corridor has retained its original appearance, with its glass doors and stained glass windows.

The building has been on the list of protected monuments since 1981.
