August Waterschoot, born in Sint-Niklaas on 9 December 1864, died in De Panne on 30 May 1940
The beginning of his career was devoted to Art Nouveau, but it was in his fifties that he would best express his talents, mainly in his hometown, Sint-Niklaas.
There are a very large number of houses in a "baroque" Art Deco style, so unique and particular.
Father of 10 children, two of his sons, Raphaël and Leander, would also be architects.
August Waterschoot ended his career as an architect for the city of Sint-Niklaas.
Leander Waterschoot, born in Sint-Niklaas on 24 April 1889, died in Antwerp (Deurne) on 11 June 1974.
Eldest son of August Waterschoot, he would work with his father. Together they were responsible for dozens of houses in San Nicolas.
Their main work is also in this city, the school of the Hieronymite Brothers, the same institution where he, his father and his brother had done their secondary studies.
