LOUIS LEGEIN

Louis Legein, born in Adinkerke on 6 June 1903, died in De Panne on 7 August 1971.

We know nothing about Louis Legein, he is said to have studied architecture at the Municipal Academy of Ghent, the rest of his life is a mystery.

It is mainly in De Panne and Saint-Idesbald, on the Belgian coast, that he left his mark. Between the two wars, he built more than a hundred villas and houses in a very personal Art Deco-Liner style.

After the Second World War, he radically changed his style, due to new trends, and built more classic bungalows and villas with thatched roofs.
